SENSORY FRIENDLY MOVIE EVENT-for kids with "different abilities" but anyone can attend

Saturday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 24 10:00 a.m.

AMC Theaters Columbia Mall

"Where the Wild Things Are" follows the adventures of Max, a headstrong young boy who leaves home after arguing with his mother -- only to find himself in a mysterious forest bordering a vast sea. Misunderstood and rebellious, Max sets sail to the land of the Wild Things, where mischief reigns. During the showing the lights will be kept up and the volume will be kept down. Sensory breaks are encouraged. Doors open at 9:30 and the movie starts at 10:00 with no trailers.

Sponsored by The Howard County Autism Society and AMC Theatres Columbia Mall

*Brandon always has a good time and has learned to sit still for a movie by attending these events.  It's great that they offer this for our kids with "different abilities"-Brianna goes too and says she has no problem watching the movie; makes it seem like you are at home with background noise and lights not as dim...I think tickets are between $ 6-  $7.

Thanks for reminding me about this. I've been wanting to try one with the boys, I think Aidan would love going to the movie theater. The only worry is I heard this movie is scary for little kids, hmm.....
