It's a scrapping Sunday!

Family decided to rest today and since I got so much done staying home yesterday (we had hella crazy rain and storms and since it was just me & the boy, we stayed home and I did chores) and so that meant that today  WAS FREE!!!  So, I did some scrapping for myself!  First up, a scraplift challenge issued by the talented ladies at Paper Issues~we had to scrapllift this beautiful layout created by Jennifer Holloway-McMurtrey:
Becky Monmaney's photo.

and here's my take on it: A layout done of my Thing 2 on his last day of school this year.

We had a less than desirable 5th grade year and I truly wish his teachers this year could've seen what a gift he truly is {sigh} but "I KNOW" that he is and that's all that matters !! The SIMPLE STORIES I AM COLLECTION" bits and pieces that I had laying around were perfect for this ! He is blessed, He is strong, he is dreaming big and much more!

Next up ?  Layout # 8 using my CKCB kit:  And I won't lie, those flocked stickers have been in my stash for at least 4 years!

We were on a senior pic photo shoot and this picture was one of the outtakes; it was actually just a darkish shadow blob but I decided that it still captured her beauty and so I just lightened it and used it.

  1. Love that first layout and the affirming message that it carries! The bow on the original and your take on it is really great but you're right, the message is the main thing.

And good for you using up those older items from your stash! I think I might have something similar in the depths of my embellie basket! Isn't it wonderful that the CKC concept encourages us to use them up?!?
