Just noticed {I could be really late on this though} that the Maya Road site has been redone. Everything looks fantastic and I really love those sheer keychains and the velvet blossoms. Check them out at http://www.mayaroad.net/
Got this great tutorial from Shannon (over at http://www.thescrapbookbungalow.blogspot.com/) and she's also a fellow poster at www.ittybittyscrapshack.com....great weekend project or just one to whip up quickly before traveling. These are her directions and you can tweak them according to your own personal tastes.
Supplies:
3 - 9 x 12 envelopes (I used kraft) *see note below
1 yard of ribbon or twine
assorted patterned papers, optional

*Envelopes need to have openings on the ends.

Fold flaps down and fold envelopes in half. Alternate the open ends.

Nest envelopes and punch hole at top and bottom. I used the Crop-A-Dile and punched in as far as it would reach, about 1 inch.

Insert twine or ribbon ends through holes from outside and bring ends back through from inside at opposite ends. Pull tight and tie.

I cover mine, inside and out with patterned paper however it's optional. I'm making this one for our trip to Vermont this summer to attend a family reunion. It's a work in progress, I always put the dates on the outside.

Here are a few others I've made.

I include plenty of space for notes and journaling and the pockets are great for ticket stubs, brochures, maps, I use one for hotel info, confirmation printout and stuff printed from Mapquest. We always do some research before we take a trip, we like to make the most of our journey.
When the photos have been printed, I just pull out the journal and refer back to my notes.
Enjoy your journey. Posted by Shannon at 8:15 AM

Have just been surfing the web to get some scrapbooking inspiration..I didn't pay attention to my calendar and missed the deadline for the Creative Imaginations recycling contest...*sigh* and I had a fantastic idea too! Anyway, I came across these 2 sites that were VERY inspiring...
http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/index.aspx Fabrics are awesome and can give you great ideas for color combos if you are stuck in a color rut while scrapping or card making. The other one was http://www.thesolitarythread.typepad.com/home/

You notice how more and more scrapbook sites are promoting the "Green" way? Well, here are three sites that I've come across this evening that are trying : www.piggytales.com, www.cropinsville.com which will launch in Mid-late May 2008, and http://www.creativeimaginations.us/....
am off to check them out! www.ribbonjar.com

Boy, I am behind! I took this picture (top one) last night and it is so adorable & innocent! B decided he needed to read a story to Big Harry (even though he can't read or talk) but, it was nice anyway!
Big Harry is a doll that's been around this house for about 8 years; he & his little brother Harry-{yep, my daughter named them both the same name; named after Herry Monster on Sesame Street, don't ask me why she chose that name instead of Elmo or something}...anyway, they've been part of the family for forever and when we take the dolls places, people think they are real!
If time doesn't allow you to crop with real friends this weekend, find time to crop with your cyber friends! There's gonna be some fun projects, make n-takes, chats, and games. I hope to get my new space more organized this weekend and will hopefully ( I say that with crossed fingers) get some layouts done to post in the Disney group that I've joined.
easy giveaway! http://thedaisydiaries.blogspot.com/2008/04/want-ribbon.html
It's National Scrapbook Day on May 3rd and what better way to PRESTART the celebration but by having a NSD Cybercrop! www.scraptreasures.com will be hosting loads of fun, make n take and MORE-go check it out!!!!!!!
