this was obviously earlier in the week before the temps took a turn-It's definitely NOT 85 degrees today...how the hell does the temp drop 30 degrees????

BEFORE:

IN PROGRESS:

one way to reduce waste while scrapbooking is to reuse...Found tons of these $1 Colorbok "how to" guides in the clearance section at either Michael's or Joann's and bought 5 or 6 of them...thought I'd start making some cute tag books with favorite pics-like mini coffee table albums! Am doing first one with my nature favorite pics from my favorite photographer, Mz. L....still a work in progress since I've gotten sidetracked...one side photo, the other will be a mini scrapbook page for journaling with poetry, quotes, or personal journaling like where photo was taken, when and why I love the pic. Great way to use up ribbon & paper scraps too.

I hosted a Spring crop and although space was limited, I think I can say that we all had a fantastic time...met Ms. J, our new Kiwi friend from New Zealand-hope she enjoyed our hospitality!
thank you ladies! And for it to be featuring one of my favorite people in the whole wide world (my aunt who passed away last year) is just an honor. I miss her tremendously and it was one year this month so I'm truly honored. Check them out and sign up on their site too! Click on the title and you will be carried away to their blog!

Puddles kit....loved it! My creation for the April kit....Enjoy! The Quick Quote and the jewels were not part of the kit though.

I can honestly say that 2009 has been the first year (I know-I've been lazy and clueless) that I'm beginning to understand the real meaning of why we should not only Reduce, Reuse and Recycle but eat green, groom green and plant more green...the more I watch shows on Discovery channel and its various sister channels like DIY, HGTV and Planet Green, it's a wonder that we still have places to travel to. The places that aren't in our backyard are suffering. Our wildlife (in areas other than North America) are definitely suffering.....many species on the verge of extinction. I know going more green costs money and I truly hate the more energy efficient light bulbs, but I'm trying.
We can all make a difference even if we only do small things to save this planet. I've only taken about 5 or 6 baby steps but I believe they do help.
Some fantastic websites that I frequent are:
http://planetgreen.discovery.com/ and http://www.care2.com/ (love this site) and http://www.freecycle.org/ and your local recs & parks websites (for composting and local recycling tips & programs.)
and oh, so silly me, how could I forget http://www.etsy.com/ ??????
this studio is a mess with a capital "M"....Brandon is home with some heeby jeeby rash and diarrhea and is ASLEEP STILL- SAY WHAT???? So, I have time until his doctor's appointment to get this SH@t cleaned up...I can't find stuff and last night while scrapping at Mandie's, I felt like I could have finished some layouts if I woulda had my supplies organized and if I would packed like I wanted to go crop. I hadn't unpacked my tote since the MD sings crop and My kit packs were just plain messy so my pages looked a hot mess. It's chilly and raining so what better thing to do than CLEAN??!!!!
Crayons are a petroleum product, they take years to biodegrade.
MORE THAN 12 MILLION CRAYONS ARE MANUFACTURED EACH DAY!!!
Just think for a moment, "How many dumpsters does that fill?"
Here is an interesting way to "GO GREEN".........
This recycling education, community service program has made it possible to stop more than 43,000 pounds of unwanted crayons from going into landfills with the help from school and organization educators and kids across this country. Thank you for your efforts to help the Earth.
National CRAYON RECYCLE PROGRAM
The CRAYON RECYCLE PROGRAM takes old, rejected, broken crayons to a better place, where they’ll be recycled into fresh, new crayons!
The program has been a national success!
The CRAYON RECYCLE PROGRAM does not add or take away anything from the original crayon.
We employ people with developmental disabilities, working on a possitive impact through community service, environmental education and art.
All CRAZY CRAYON purchases benefit the CRAYON RECYCLE PROGRAM.
Spread the word! Many people don’t know this program exists. Tons of crayons are thrown away without a second thought.

Children's Miracle Network
Children's Miracle Network is an international non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and welfare of children by raising funds and awareness for its member hospitals, which treat nearly every disease and injury imaginable from cancer to broken bones.
More than 1 Million Associates Help a Total of 17 Million Children Every Year
Since 1987, when we became a corporate sponsor of Children’s Miracle Network, our associates have raised more than $400 million for the network’s 170 children's hospitals. Every dollar raised by each store and club is given to Children's Miracle Network hospitals in the communities where we live and work. Our customers and associates went above and beyond in May of 2007 by raising $10 million in one month and we are striving for that goal again this year! April 20th through May 31st are known as our Six Miracle Weeks. During this time we will be selling Miracle Balloons at all of our locations to help miracles happen at all Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

***Brandon will be kicking off the Howard County event at the Ellicott City Walmart (Rt 40 near the SuperFresh at Rogers Ave) on April 17th...pictures to follow....even though most people will be at work or school, I know ya'll shop at Walmart and you can still donate and buy a balloon at your local store!!!
