My March kit is posted and since the boy went back to school today, errands done early, I got back home in time to play with paper for an hour! Am doing my challenges out of order so I started with the CKCB'S CHALLENGE # 2- there's a hint:
Yup, you guessed it! Vera Bradley! Her eclectic and instantly recognizable mix of color and prints are inspirational....I personally don't have any but maybe in the near future??
I was inspired by the Caroline bag since my kit had teal and yellow in it...the Counterfeit Kit March challenge# 2 is to mix patterns, colors and scales. Use 3 or more patterned papers on your project. Not a problem since I love mixing patterned papers of all manus anywhere, anytime. So that the patterns wouldn't look spastic, I used a white background (something I see that I am liking more and more out of my comfort box) and used slivers of pattern....
Since I have tons of unscrapped vacation photos and not all are scrapworthy, I started tacking em onto the back of layouts here & there...here's the back of the layout with a mini flipbook and more journaling. TFL !

Dear Miss Queen Kat,
ReplyDeleteI have spent some time on your blog this evening. You have a beautiful family and a wonderful heart. It sounds like you are going through such a difficult time, but it sounds like you are trusting God through it all.
Blessings to you and your family and speedy recovery for your son,
Dawn
Sounds like you and your family are bouncing back to "normal" life really well! Great layout here! I LOVE the idea of attaching a mini book and more journaling on the back of the layout. Think I just might borrow that idea!!!

Your page is gorgeous and you've totally nailed this challenge. I love how you've combined your colours and prints onto some calming white space.
ReplyDeleteWhat a peaceful picture on such a beautiful layout!
ReplyDeleteLove that page - so beautiful with all the tiny touches of colour and pattern - and what gorgeous hand-writing - a work of art in itself!
ReplyDeleteyou really captured the Very Bradley so well. the colours and patterns you chose are perfect and the white background works perfectly. Great job and what a good idea to pop some flip books on the back with the rest of the photos.
