Challenge 1 is up! Who has Disney or cartoons to scrap??? Me! But my Disney's s all packed up so I went with cartoons!
It's Spring Break here in MD and i had promised Thing2 we'd do movie date, then both of us got sick with a spring cold... but after 7 days, since we're on the tail end (took covid tests, negative) we decided to go to see Sonic 2...I thought it was a cartoon since it is on tv too.
Used my April Counterfeitkit..
Downloaded some free images and fussy cut Knuckles (aka Idris Elba MBD)for a pop of cartoon!
Thanks for popping by..ps-i have the movie an 8/10 only because I thought it was too long...animation was fantastic!
my first 2 layouts with my April kit for the Counterfeitkit challenge blog! If you haven't joined us, hop over to the Counterfeit kit blog and do the Master Forger blog hop , create your kit and get started!!
I don't know why I'm on such a flower power kick...spring is starting here and it's making my allergies crazy! Maybe I just have way too many floral papers in my stash???
Happy Scrappy Sunday!! More of the Riconoscenza kit from the Clique Kits shop! Love the mix of magenta with blue, yellow and purple... eclectic and modern !
Love the look of watercolor without me having to break out my real paints, I did fussy cut some of the hearts for pop and layered lots of those gorgeous flowers. Used the floral die cut frame in a different way than I originally intended, but it ended up working out so...
This fabulous kit and the add- on kit is still available in the Clique Kits shop!
If you've never shopped at Clique Kits before, you don't know what you're missing! This is our "Riconoscenza" Base kit and add on kit... Simply gorgeous and it makes you feel all the maroons and purple hues... still available in the Clique Kits shop!
It's time for the Counterfeiters to show you some Forgery on the Fourth!
If you will recall, in the original inspiration kit from Kelly Purkey she had these papers:I was inspired to make my own embellishments from the 2 center papers since I loved those patterns. Since I'm still traveling, I broke out my trusty watercolors, my circle trace thingee (don't judge, I'm traveling without punches and only have what I can find in my dad's junk drawer lol) and my black gel pen.
I then just drew (loosely) some leafy strands and also some connected circles like the inspiration photo- definitely loose, I like that organic feel cause there's less pressure to make it perfect-comes from being a scrapper and an art journaler and also the fact that I hate to measure ANYTHING.
Next, scribbly outline with a black pen of choice: I do scribbly cause it's too much pressure to be straight!
and VOILA-MY own watercolor embellishments inspired by patterned papers! You could leave it as patterned paper and do more repetitions or cut it out like I did. Your art, your choice!
and of course, how I used them along with my July Counterfeit Kit!
Hey everybody-I'm officially a Counterfeit Kit Master Forger! I know I've always posted and raved about Counterfeit kits as a follower but now I'm officially on the Design Team! If you are new here, thanks for popping by- I thought I'd introduce myself for any newbies!
I'm Kate Blue-mom to 2 wonderkids and a fur baby living in the great state of Maryland USA and I've been scrapbooking for maybe 13 years?? Before that, I never dabbled in any kind of art-I nor anyone else ever asked me if I wanted to try ANY of it so I always assumed I wasn't good at it or that I'd even like art and crafts. Well, I had some life changing events in 2004 -2005 that caused tremendous amounts of stress and my sister suggested scrapbooking. Since I had never ever heard of the word scrapbooking, we went to a local crop and I sat around and watched and listened to everybody and touched all the scrapbook stuff (it was in a scrapbook store) and I'd say that I stopped looking at and buying supplies after about 6 months and jumped in! I took a Basic Grey scrapbook layout class and was hooked! Fast forward 14 years and I've been on design teams, guest designed, been published and just can't live without scrapbooking! I love the fellowship of it, I love all things patterned paper and I love that it gets ME in the story and the pictures for my children and hopefully one day, their children. I hope you'll lurk around my blog and get to know me and I hope to inspire you in some way :)My full kit was revealed yesterday and so today, I leave you with one of my clean layouts :) made from the Buenos Dias goodies that I had in my July CKC kit:
I'm not sure if you knew this or not, but my biggest problem with my scrappin obsession is that I LOVE LOVE LOVE patterned paper! But, I made myself a promise this year that I was going to purge some of it and then make a BIG dent in the rest. I also made a commitment in 2021 to use it up by applying to be on design teams, participating in more layout challenges, and yes, I even signed up for a 6 x 6 Paper Pad challenge class from Alison Davis at Scrapbook Generation!
Each week they post a new sketch and show you different ways to interpret the sketch and show examples and videos to boost your creativity and help you use those supplies!
I am maybe 2 weeks behind due to traveling but I have done some of the classes and I love them!
Am taking the 6 x 6 Paper Pads class with Allison Davis...I had to- because my name is Katherine and I have a 6 x 6 paper pad addiction... at least 130 pads (some unopened, some slightly used and some with 3 or 4 sheets left). I needed a kick in the pants and why not with a class created just for that??
Circles...a challenge...I didn't HAVE to use them but again, I'm challenging myself. I can't show the sketch but so far, class #1 and done!!
Today's layout comes to you courtesy of the Buenos Dias Sampler kit from Clique Kits!

It's the new collection from Obed Marshall and American Crafts- the first ever bilingual collection combining bright colors in a diluted way and it's just young, fun and playful without being immature. I fell in love with the kit immediately!!
And so for my first layout as a Clique Kits Design Team member, here ya go! I combined die cuts like a banner cluster with some metallic yarn... mixed chipboard and die cut elements together.
I've always been a huge lover of kraft cardstock paper, in fact I probably scrapped on it years and years ago when everyone else was using white cardstock and I didn't own any white cardstock!
Well, I was asked to be the March guest designer at Kraft Plus and I was like heck yeah!!! This month's inspiration mood board is pretty amazing-it reminds me of a combo of mixed media and scrapbooking don't ya think??
Paper tears, bright colors of yellow, aqua and pinks- and of course the kraft!I'm sooooorrry! I got the papers together but no embellishments. Then I decided to clean up my scrap studio and misplaced the papers! But I still have time to create a mini kit this week MAYBE!
So for now, enjoy my LOAD as I writeup all the March catchup posts!
Went back to using black cardstock as my background! May start doing that more often!
Welcome 2021!!! 🥳🥳🍾🍾
No celebrating here and that's ok... sometimes peace and quiet is what we need right??? No partying but plenty of crafting! Listened to/ watched Vicki Boutin on Facebook live and did a quick layout with her!!
Loved breaking out my Vicki B mixed media crayons and stencils...
Welcome back peeps! TGIF!! I have to admit that my craft studio is all torn apart right now because I decided this year to get all my Christmas/holiday stuff outta the storage area and go through it ALL...Marie Kondo style...sorted by color ( I gotta lotta red, gold and silver) and to throw away dingy/broken things. And so it is on tables in the scraproom until I get some new totes from Walmart....BUT, even though I blocked my scrap closet, I did manage to rummage through my scrapbag and find some Paper House goodies!
So for my first Paper House Creative Team reveal, I'm showcasing some awesome 3D stickers of the Grand Canyon! It was my first kid-less trip in at least 20 years and it was jut breathtaking...I'll admit that I should've scrapped all the pictures of the trip long ago-I went in Oct 2017 lol! But I'm off to a great start now-FINALLY!!!.
Love how the 3D stickers pop AND, you can add things in between the layers if you want! If you look closely at the binoculars and the compass at the top, I love how they added a ring on them so you could hang them from a clip like I did or add yarn or string to it for more layering interest.
Grab some paints and add them to your scrapbook layouts! I also grabbed some texture paste and ran it through a stencil for even more texture!!
I've held on to this picture for years. It was given to me by my uncle (pictured but now deceased) after my aunt (his wife) had passed. When I think about REAL LOVE , these 2 always come to mind. They were the epitome of unconditional love not just for each other and their children, but for me and my sisters as well. There will never be two wonderful, amazing, loving, caring, people like them in my life ever again. They are missed every single moment of every day. ❤❤❤
Another forgery for the 5th! Forgot to post yesterday
In my quest to keep using stash, I searched and couldn't find any bees!! had to clean up my studio a bit and while doing that, I found lots of coloring books. Who says you can't use them in your scrapbooking???
Watercoloring in my crazy way, not realistic cause that takes toooo long!
And VOILA! My Forgery on the 5th!! A mixed media layout with my mini kit and some handcutting!
