I'm in a Facebook Group called Scrap Squad and every Friday, they have a new layout for you to scraplift. It's a good way to get our mojo back, use stash and just a way to be inspired. So last week, I decided to play catchup and started at the beginning. Challenge#2 was to be inspired by THIS layout from the talented Adrienne Alvis (you can find her at the Hip Kit Club ):
and here's my take on it using my August Counterfeit Kit Club (CKC) kit:
Even if it's only ONE layout! I dumped all my bags and kits so that I could remake them into newer kits for an upcoming crop so for Scrapping Sunday yesterday, I only managed to scrap ONE layout!
This makes layout number 4 with my July Counterfeit Kit (CKCB) though! I can't tell you how long I've held on to the fence chipboard piece (YEARS) but I'm glad I finally used it! Mojo/inspiration is courtesy of the Paper Issues Facebook Group Scraplift Sunday and their layout from DT Michelle Gallant:
Gorgeous, right??? I wish I had my Silhouette hooked up (I will soon though-I got a new desktop and have been super lazybones) so I could've cut out some awesome stars..I substituted with my gold ones that may have been in one of my Clique Kits... and the cute flair was a custom one done for Clique way back in Aug 2016 (I always mix old -n-new)...have some time today to scrap so hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with some creations!!

It's a Father's Day weekend but that being said, I get to scrap since my husband just wanted PEACE and QUIET (and food) so I can get down with that! That being said, my mojo is off but since it's the middle of the month, I dug into my June Counterfeit Kit and just started off slowly!
Did a BIG PICTURE LO since this photo has been sitting in my folder forever:
and then I scraplifted the super talented Victoria Marie AGAIN; same layouts I used of hers before ...I used again (I loved em, what can I say?? )
and then my take:
and again, HERS:

and then, MINE:
I'm kinda obsessed with her style-please check out her BLOG and also her PINTEREST

I got to hang out with the bff for a bit yesterday..we had some catching up to do since we've both been sick in December and January...took a scrapbook bag with me so we could multitask!
I was feeling a bit uninspired so I trolled around her layouts and BOOM! Decided to scraplift her using my January CKCB kit.
HERS:
MINE (CKCB LO # 2):
In addition to this, I did about 4 other layouts and did a bit of coloring! Hope you got some crafty time in this weekend!!

Counterfeit Kit Nov Challenge #1
By kate blue - Thursday, November 13, 2014

If you aren't on Pinterest, I have to wonder about you...no, wait ....maybe you are the sane one and you should be wondering about ME cause we all know how addictive it is! I LOVE Pinterest and you can follow me by clicking the link to the left! Challenge # 1 over at CKCB is: TO BE INSPIRED BY PINTEREST! Rather than do a scraplift from one of the
INSPIRATION: Color circle, Wood background, small earth tone accents, white with one pattern, fall theme....could I do a Thirty Minute or less layout???? I dug in and got to scrapping it with my Counterfeit Kit!

I did add to the layout with these REALLY BIG STICKERS from Me & My Big Ideas (I think I got them at Hobby Lobby): I used one for the "plate" and then created around it.freestyled/handcut the brown leaves with my fabric template outta my kit. Awesome ribbon is from CTMH.
My tiny stamps are courtesy of Lameka @ Pink Bow Ties :) (I'm not a stamper that's why they are crooked :):)
Not thirty minutes or less cause I overthunk it but....this is Layout #1 with my November CKCB kit and as you'll be able to tell, since it's November, most if not all of this month's CKCB layouts will be faith based/gratitude based :)
it's so much easier to catchup this way...hmm....last week was full of work, drs appointments, errands, back to school and Back to School Nights! Not much time at all for craftiness so, no layouts :(
I forgot to share the pics from the awesomely amazing class I took with Dyan Reaveley!
I'm hoping to incorporate some mixed media into more of my pages AND I hope to get some mixed media SMASH journals done sometime in 2014...and speaking of mixed media, I have always been a fan of the talented artist, Bekah Ash and it was divine intervention that I got one of her cards for my birthday. So, I panted a canvas for my soon to be "made over" bedroom :) I love her style & her creations and hope I "lifted" it in a good way...I am going to add a quote on the left side as soon as I decide which one I want to use; I got some good ones on the coffee/tea things they have at Starbucks! I might add more to the headdress part but am not sure.
Now that the kids are back in school, I am doing a fall re-do/cleanup-that's the only way to get rid of stuff is when the kiddos are not around...otherwise they want to keep EVERYTHING. I just finished the girl's room revamp and am now about to start my own so I am hoping to find some colorful bedding that will do this canvas proud :):):)

so, I jumped back in for the first time in 3 months and used my Counterfeit Kit (CKCB) and the first thing I did was do Challenge # 2- get inspired by Jennifer Grace! So, I read her blog (translation=lurked and lurked and lurked some more)

after much deliberation, I chose THIS layout called "You're the Bomb Diggity"-for a coupla reasons: it was fun and playful, great title (no diggity no doubt) and she combined my love of all things stars, wood veneers, a great picture and button flair!
So, it was Thing 1's sweet 16 birthday dinner and she is a super sweet 16 beauty yes?? SO, we went to dinner and I needed to scrap a pic of her with her awesome parents since we may hardly get that pose again :) AND, I used all the goodies from my March CKCB kit!!!

**ps-yes, I am that short against the giants that live in this house!
during a bout with insomnia last week, I happily stumbled across this blog (Paper Lovers Studio) and decided to jump right in with their challenges! Scraplifting is all about your interpretation and I admit, most times, my creation doesn't look like the original... This one from Heather over at the Two Peas blog is who they scrap jacked...
THEIRS: CHALLENGE # 3: Scraplift Heather from TwoPeas layout here:and here's my take on it, using stash, printable from Miss Tina and die cut spots from Jillibean Soup Cucumber Soup Collection: .it had sewing on it and unfortunately, my sewing machine has navy blue thread in it (cause I left my glasses at home and when I bought it, I THOUGHT it was black LOL) and it just looked crazy, so I skipped the sewing part.
Happy viewing and hope you are enjoying the 4th!
It's Thankful Thursday and as always, I am thankful for good HEALTH...even more so this week as I have 2 friends who are in need of prayer for exactly that reason....one who recently lost a child after a unexpected illness & lengthy hospitalization & for another whose child is still going through medical treatments with the hopes of a positive outcome.....{Sigh} But folks have been asking about this boy of mine, so here's an update
My Thing 2 was activated this week (his 2nd cochlear) and so far, it just has the robotic loud sounds, no voice recognition (it takes at least a year but could take YEARS of auditory rehab like the first one) and he is not happy! For the first time ever, I have seen a grouchy, irritable child! Poor thing! BUT, that's why GOD gave me some outstanding therapists, educators and audiologists! Our work is never done and so we keep working on my "mini masterpiece" and as long as he's healthy, that's all I can ask for-trust me, having a sick kid for almost 3 years was no walk in the park... As I grumble driving to Johns Hopkins every Monday, I will keep reminding myself that I am there for a good reason and not a bad one :):) My mantra: Lemonade not lemons!
and it's fitting that the Layout Of The Day is a scraplift....well, not exactly a scraplift, let's say I was scrap "inspired" by the talented Meghann Andrew of Meghann's Little Corner...
I'm JUST catching up on my December 2012 issue of Scrapbook Trends magazine (don't judge, I get busy and forget to read em) and my eye spied her "Meeting Giada" layout....#1 cause I'm a foodie and I'd know Giada anywhere and #2 I loved the verticalness (not a word, I know) of the photo, journaling and papers. Also loved the washi and the pennant thingees. So, since we are praising the hard work of Thing 2 today, here is my "lift:"

Heidi Swapp* Shelly H Flair button, Prima bling goodness !! Washi tape came from Michael's (Recollections)
No Title cause ya'll know I struggle with them!
to keep using my stash despite the fact that CHA Winter sneaks are popping up all around...before I even spend $ 20, I've promised myself that I HAVE to actively use TONS of my stash! So one way for me to really commit to that promise (before late February when the new Crate Paper, Echo Park, My Mind's Eye and LYB start calling my name) is to join in on some challenge blogs.
So, the first challenge for 2013 that I jumped into was over at 2Peas in a Bucket. The Chatty Scrappers Group challenge for January was: BOOKMARKS CHALLENGE: scraplift a LO off your first page of bookmarks! I don't have that many LOs bookmarked since I normally Pin things, so it was easy to chose the uber talented Allison Waken's "I Love Us" layout:
If you've never been to Allison's blog, you should pop over OR you can see her over at her 2Peas gallery {HERE}...she's EXtremely talented and is a way better PhotoBooth photo taker than I ever can be....I was also thinking that this was a great way to kickoff another challenge I'm doing for 2013 but I'll explain that in my next post...I digress...sorry :)

Anyway, here is my "LIFT" and I used bits & pieces of stash of course!
Whoop Whoop!
I don't own any die cut machines AT ALL so the super cute "happy" cut out didn't happen :(. And I'm still sticking to my strange Studio Calico wood veneers addiction...But I like how it turned out and ya'll know I can't do "non straight/ cockeyed pictures so don't even ask LOL! Thanks for letting me share!
Even after being on their DT in the past and knowing they come up with some great challenges and even though I have been scrapping for a bit, I still find challenges, well, CHALLENGING! This stumped me:
Yup, A TIMELINE! OMG right???!!!! So, of course I want you to head over to True XOXO to see my take on it ( I scrapped my nephew & his wife at their baby shower-great day) and to read all the comments that the DT left for me! Talk about feeling the L-O-V-E! ! Made my Friday super special for sure!
Here's a sneak! Click on the picture to take you to the full TRUE reveal!

I'm bad, somebody help me!***SEMI CORRECTED
By kate blue - Thursday, September 20, 2012
A few months ago, the lovely folks over at Creating Keepsakes gifted me this lovely special edition magazine:
and I read it cover to cover more than once, bookmarked stuff I liked and even jumped in on their inspiration challenge and scraplifted one of the layouts in the back...Had every intention of doing the post , yada yada yada...Loaned the book out to the bff...Then, when cleaning up my hard drive, came across the layout ...So, am just showing MY GUYS and yes, it's a scraplift of whoever did the super cute layout (15 minutes or less layout?) on the last page of the book...If somebody has the book and can give me the info to credit the creator, I'd be most grateful so I can fix this post.. CORRECTION**
I found out who it was...the fabulous 15 minute layout diva was done by the fab Mandie Pierce (her super cute layout called My Tender Heart:). I don't have a picture of it but will track one down soon :0
again, my fascination with the Studio Calico wood stars :):):):):):):):)
It seems like only yesterday when I was on their DT and being their admin gal, but I gave up a lot of DT stuff and actually took a break from crating for a bit...BUT, it's September, 'I'm "KINDA" (I say KINDA cause there's times when I have no willpower-like at Hobby Lobby yesterday) in a USE MY STASH self-imposed restriction, and so, I've compiled some projects finally and some challenges to get my mojo jumpstarted...the TRUE XOXO DT challenge this month caught my eye :) So, since I've missed their "thinking outside the box" creativity, I thought I'd jump in on this month's Challenge # 33: Back to September! challenge... use something "unconventional" on a layout...something that truly stumped me since I'm kinda square..so I looked around on my desk and VOILA! I had it!
I took the liberty of scraplifting (part of their challenge too) the oh so fabulous and oh so evolving
Ms. Michelle Hernandez....
and came up with this:
I know, boring, not as colorful or exciting as hers, but I loved that her papers looked like ribbon so I got out my washi tape and cut it like hers, and I was inspired by the star thingees -I cut mine out of some patterned paper even though my original thought was to use DNC floss and brads..I got lazy plus I was scrapping somewhere where I didn't have all my supplies ...my unconventional items are of course a super cute plastic straw and a piece of a sewing pattern...so there ya go....thanks for looking ! ps-My September starts with this girl, she is a Labor Day baby so her birthday makes September OFFICIAL :)
HJop you'll hop over to TRUE XOXO and be inspired too !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Hey....it's hump day and we get a free day since Thing 2's therapist had an engagement-I decided to give him the day off....had gone away to the Girls Night Inn last weekend and if you can believe it, NO PICS! Sometimes when you do a getaway, there's no getting dolled up for the Queen's photo shoot and who wants to see themselves on somebody else's blog in their pajamas? ? BUT, I did manage to get about 15 layouts done for myself and some DT stuff so...it's all good in spite of....
One good thing that happened that weekend is that one of my bff's "gifted" me the City of Lights kit from Studio Calico!
is it not awesome??? So, I also had my handy dandy Scrapbook Trends mag (either April or May issue *I forget which) with me and so I lifted this layout "Sibling Love" from the uber talented Birgit Koopsen:
I was primarily attracted to the super cool BIG FLOWER POWER at the side and then, I had a stack of tags begging to be used so....my chubby little hands got to handcutting away! Since I was away from home, I didn't have the photo corners nor the doily border punch so I just went along without it and decided not to go back and add more layers when I got home (with the exception that I may add some journaling on it next week)...loved using the mask, that awesome awesome wood frame and the awesome papers from the SC kit along with goodies outta my own stash (AND, still loving those Jillibean Soup buttons!)
AND YES, I am wearing my crown....it's just so much fun to wear one for no reason other than it makes me happy :):):):):)
thanks for popping by~see ya soon! ps-super cool butterfly is from a chipboard pack at Michaels right now **Cheap-I think it was $ 1.50 for assorted hearts and butterflies...can't wait to see if they go on clearance soon so I can scoop up about 5-6 packs!

just ones I had done for myself....am still only about 2, 700 photos behind schedule. I'm trying to scrap all the ones I already have printed instead of printing new ones :)

this month's Scrapbook Trends is off the chain! Well, actually, every issue is off the chain, I just wanted to say that! I got no further than the cover-in fact, I bought just based on this fabulous layout by the super talented Kelly Purkey: And if you can believe it, I have never been to her blog; I've always loved her work in SBT but just kept forgetting to go to her blog...damn, what have I been missing??? I popped over there for 2 mins tonite and was like OMG! Girl is SUPA DUPA talented; she's SUPER BASS !! Will have to go lurk , oops, troll, oops, stalk.... leave love when I get back home :)
Anyway, I decided to whip out my October Afternoon Santa Sack AGAIN and "scraplift" her "We Smile A Lot Together" layout....90% supplies OA - that cool Noel tag which came from Michaels-I think it was supposed to be a gift tag but I used it as a scrapbook embelly !
look at the super cute deer closeup that I just had to handcut...added some German glitter glass, date stamped and some aqua necklace beads from my old jewelry making days......remember it's a "lift" so I never do anything "exactly" like the original-could never happen anyway since I never measure, PLUS, any original is el numero uno but the concept is still there...sorta kinda.....
