Knock Knock...Blog Hop (photo heavy)

"who's there?"  Orange...Orange who?? Orange you glad you are joining the Fiskateers blog hop??  If you just happened to come along and didn't know we were doing a blog hop, then please start the HOP at the Fiskateers blog.   If you hopped over  from Lead Fiskateer Tami's blog, then you are on the right track!!

I'm KateB, Fiskateer # 4529 and I actually did two projects...One of course being a layout...I assembled my tools and I have to say that Fiskars trimmers and punches are awesome!  My favorite corner punch is their Twist and Flip -2 in 1 punch; just lift up the small piece on the top, turn it and VOILA, you can change from a small corner to a large one. Saves room in your scrapbook tote and it's very ergonomic! BUT my all time favorite " GO TO " tool is always gonna be their Fingertip craft knives (can't you tell since I have 3 of them??)..anyway, the knives allow somebody like me who is always hand/fussy cutting to do it quickly and with precision-blades are sharp though so be careful! Anyway, after handcutting and punching scallops and corners, I put my layout together ( I don't measure EVER, hence no directions) and here's the finished product!  tfl !

The next project is not my original idea; I scraplifted this from the uber-talented Cathe Holden at the scjohnson website and decided to give it a try as a GO GREEN  {kinda} project...I call them LOVE BOOKS...and it all starts off with a cardboard (cereal, crackers, packaging, etc...) box!  I normally don't buy these mini cereals but we were on vacation this summer and I actually remembered to save them!
materials: box, 6 pcs double sided cardstock, stamps, embells, rubber band and mini golf pencil

Basically, you cut your box so that it folds like a book... Cut 5 pieces of paper to fit book and score with bone folder in center.  Staple to the cover  and then if you want, cover the outside with last piece of paper (to cover staples). Some might like the uncovered  look of the cereal box as the cover-all personal preference...Start embellishing  inside pages but keep them simple so that it's all about the writing of the love note.  Once done, wrap rubber band around it, add pencil to it and you are done! **Note that I think mine were too big since I didn't cut down the cereal box.  I'll cut them to small bitty  3 x 3books next time.

Journal words of love and encouragement inside and put it where your loved one can find it.  I made one for Thing 1 and for Thing 2 so I can stick it in their lunch boxes instead of using my normal post-it-note.  Well, not for the boy since he buys lunch everyday but I'll figure out a place for his.

Finally, I'm DONE! Thanks for looking; I gotta send you on to the next Fiskateer...and that would be REGENA !
