more thankful Thursday*

Wilna F had posted something about Kayla Aimee on her wall today and I thought the name was familiar..turns out K is the chick that I scraplifted the idea for those cool magazine Christmas trees that I did right before xmas {tutorial on the side} and many of you many know her from her work with Pink Paislee..anyway, K's baby Scarlette is in the NICU and she's right where we were 5 1/2 years ago...she wants a healthy baby girl just like we wanted a healthy baby boy and recently, she's thankful that her daughter gained a pound!!!

So, I'm posting this for her so that she is encouraged when the times are rough...it keeps getting better even if you gotta take baby steps backwards sometimes...stay on your doctors, therapists and everyone in between!  They do understand how you feel but sometimes things get lost in translation and the hustle and bustle of it all.  I have never scrapped our early pics since they are extremely private PLUS I wasn't scrapping back then, but here are some of the better days to show the progress...PROGRESS DOES HAPPEN....and as you guys go about your daily routine this week, say a prayer {or two or a hundred} for baby Scarlette-  Prayer is the most powerful thing we can give another personBE ENCOURAGED MY FRIEND ****

  1. Greetings Queen Kat! a.k.a. my birthday twin...Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. We have more in common than a birthday. I started to comment the other day, but I became overwhelmed with emotion and didn't know where to start. You see, my husband and I also have a son who started out as a preemie. Our little Jahmai was born a little over 7 years ago at a whopping 1 lb 6oz. He was three and half months premature. When I saw your pics it took me back. I could feel the anguish and the joy all over again. I may post some pics of his journey near his birthday. It's very hard for him to look at the EXTENSIVE scrapbook I created about that time. He always asks "Is that really me"?. "Why do I have that thing in my mouth"?...or "What's wrong with that baby"? I try to explain, but the look on his face is so sad, I usually just skip to the more pleasant pages. Hopefully one day he'll be able to look at it and realize how blessed he is and what a miracle his very life is...I wish your son a happy, happy birthday and peace and blessings to you and your family.

  2. Hi Queen Kat! I just hopped over from BlogHer. Your children are beautiful!! I work with children and see quite a few preemies. It's amazing what a combination of modern medicine, dedicated families, and a fighting spirit in a tiny body can achieve :)
