When the storm comes, get to scrappin'

By kate blue - Tuesday, October 30, 2012

I cooked up a storm yesterday (no pun intended) and so today (Monday) was a lazy, leftovers kinda stormy day full of Hurricane Sandy...wasn't sure how the whole power thing was gonna play out  so....Everybody chilled and I did some laundry but since one kid's sick and the other was taking advantage of the day off from school, I got to head downstairs to play with paper...My intention was to work on the pile of unfinished layouts BUT>>> instead I worked on a project for an upcoming Guest DT (more on that later this week) and then I headed over to Punky Scraps to play with them since I always promised myself that i would and never have...

Their challenge # 55 is actually a RECIPE:  Hmm...something that is definitely a challenge for me since recipes usually involve something I don't like like 8 flowers, or something, but not this time!  Head over to their blog and check it out and maybe create a layout yourself!...and even though I had a problem with masking, it just means that I need more practice!  I did manage to stick to the rules and if you look closely at the punched circles, it's patterned paper too...

Sorry for the bad pics, it's the wee hours of the morn &  there's not a drop of light to be found down here!  The awesome background paper is from Jenni Bowlin (Wren-Typing Lessons-LOVE IT and wish I had gotten more than one piece of it!   Chevron corners are from Lily Bee (Persnickety -Prim-both sides are actually gorgeous and I wish I had gotten 2 of those too)....everything else vintage stash......that tiny block of paer is from October Afternoon; a piece that somebody had  thrown away and I knew I'd use the wording one day (I'm a trash picker) so it went into my scrap stack....
