Most of us in the scrapbook world know Emilie and back in December, I pinned a challenge that she had pinned on her wall...I know many of you are doing PL and OWL but I can't commit to those just cause I am lazy BUT this one is different!
On September 8th, 2008 Aleida blogged a photo of herself, smiling, that read "Live today like there is no tomorrow." On September 12th, 2008 Aleida was struck by another car on her way to work and passed away, leaving 2 small children and a grieving husband. She was 41 years old.
So I struggled with her message but knew it was the truth..and so after that, I started getting in the action too! I just wear cuter tops, comb my hair and COverGirl and PurMinerals are my friends :0
The challenge is this:
To photograph yourself with your children each and every month. And to post them here or use hashtag #ALEIDASCHALLENGE on twitter and instagram, so that Emilie and others can see Aleida's legacy unfolding.
Since it was a busy day all around (inauguration, MLK day, mommy & me dinner date), I decided to start today while we were out & about -each 21st, we'll do a pic!: Who's gonna join in ?????
I'm then gonna scrap each one as I do them too (using a CKC kit I put together just for this project)

We don't know each other but I have been following your blog for a while and I use to follow Aleida's blog as well and miss her creativity. She was and still remains quite an inspiration to me. I love your blog with it's many beautiful layouts. I would love to try this challenge since I am seldom in any pictures with the family. I remember that post she left all too well and have to force myself not to cry, God used her to send us a loving last message. Thank you for this post and sharing your passion and yourself with your crafty sisterhood.
ReplyDeleteAbove comment from me.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful idea - and a fabulous photo of the three of you!
ReplyDeleteJust love this idea - wish I'd seen it when mine were still home... My aunt who just went on to Glory once told me that when I was gone, my kids would think I was just a pair of legs in a bathrobe, since that was all she would see in videos we sent of Christmas morning! Capture those moments - you won't regret it.
ReplyDeleteYou have me convinced.
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving some L-O-V-E !
