Year two-hearing loss as a result of extensive antibiotics and extended illness.... we rejoice for his life and continued path to wellness and started researching/exploring options regarding the hearing loss :)
On a positive note, we got rid of the monitors, the meds, the oxygen AND the feeding tube!! He had just started to learn to eat, drink (he never knew how because he was so ill and heavily ventilated for a year) AND with the help of Early Intervention, he can sit up, stand up and walk! Most kids do all those things in year one but we had to wait to year two....
