so we got triple booked as I said...pumpkin patch (previous rant), then took Thing 1 and Thing 2 to dinner before Thing 1 had to go to work..then, off we dashed to a concert with the boy...A Sensory Friendly concert provided by CJ Shiloh and the Musical "Autist", and for all of you who may have some kids with "different abilities," you know how important it is to sponsor these kinds of events.
The concert featured the ridiculously talented Ms. Chou Chou Scantlin...wife, mother, daughter and oh so talented singer /performer who just happens to have autism....not that you'd know it unless she told you-her backstory is pretty dang amazing...All I know is that it was like being transported to another land where she was Glinda the Good Witch reincarnated as a singer.
Normally, she performs with her husband Doc and his orchestra, The Imperial Palm Orchestra but tonight, they did a special performance for the kids complete with shakers, dancing and lots of bubbles!!
It was a fabulous way to unwind at the end of the day-her spirit was so kind, giving and extremely gentle...not to mention she is an outstanding singer & performer ! My thing 2 was having the time of his life...and she even let his BLUE zebra (aka Mack) have some special attention too :):)
AND did I mention that she makes her own costumes!!! SUPER TALENTED!
promised my friend CJ (below) that we were gonna have to get a group together and take in the grownup show soon! ( Little known fact about me: I LOVE Big Band and Swing)
