Back in February, I viewed a tutorial on Helmar's blog on how to make fringed tags...and for those of us who want ways to use up our scraps, this was perfect!

Rachel's tutorial was simple to follow but since I have problems measuring, (I eyeball everything) it took me longer than normal to make them. I pulled scraps from my desk and also leftovers from my February Counterfeit kit.

I then followed the tutorial and made about 12 tags:
I added this one to my Travelers Notebook (TN) cause I love the typewriter :)
and so when I need a tag to put on my layout, I can use these others as my base tags and add more stuff to them like I did here:
so there ya go, an alternative project with scraps other than a layout!!
for those who do scrapbooks, minibooks, gift tags, SMASH** and more, RebeccaB from U Printables by RebeccaB is the place for some super cute freebie printables like THIS: (which I downloaded today cause I plan on using my yellow SMASH* goodies from Stacy this weekend)
OR, how about THIS cutie:

One of my fall projects for the BASB Simple Thanks Challenge was a Gratitude box...we have so much to be thankful for not just in November but all year long. Sometimes we forget to write down the small stuff and our favorite photographs get stuck in boxes; waiting for someone to just look at them...so I have created some tags with more of the evergrowing scrapbook stash for us to use...Our way of paying it forward is that family and friends get to add to our box too-I've created extra tags and we'll even take pictures when they visit to add on the tags too! That way, my family knows that everyone who walks in our door is a blessing to US.
Here's a BIG tag (used one of the bigger Jenni Bowlin Bingo cards as my tag base) I created today and I decided to put a picture on it too...will add pictures of the box and some of the other tags later since right now, they are being used by a manufacturer and I can't post just yet...but soon!
the tags I rec'd were just so beautiful that I've decided to dispaly them around the house rather than just put 'em up somewhere to collect dust bunnies...SO, earlier in the fall when I had Jim come and do some tree trimming, he found 3 birds nests and asked if I wanted them...{yes}..so I sprayed them with bug spray first and them later with some Concrete Shimmerz and here is how I displayed this phenomenal tag from NANCY W- ( the eggs are soap from an Easter kit I bought at Pier One long time ago for like $1 after Easter was over)- everything was like 90% off !

It's sitting in my scrapstudio, looking all pretty-don'tcha love this?????
