am finally getting around to scrapping my husbands side of the family...we don't have very many pictures of them for some odd reason so I work with what I got...it ain't much...maybe 10 pictures?
He doesn't remember how old he was exactly in this picture; he thinks maybe around age 16 or so...10th or 11th grade...hence the reason why we scrapbook! So that when you are 50 and can't remember....LOL...but this is the hubs and his dad who we still miss terribly..you can see why my kids have that crazy metabolism and are all so dang tall ???? The Boddy side of the family is all vertically challenged!
I think I used tons of October Afternoon here....vintage rubons I'm gonna guess may be Cosmo Cricket...and of course I had to add my favorite supply- AFlair for Buttons typewriter button :):)

I went down in the studio to organize stuff for the CCH yard sale (which I may or may not have time to finish) and found some 2010 projects that I started and never finished SO this next 30 days is about UNFINISHED projects and my will to "gettemdone"....So, I had this absolutely gorgeous black album from Canson that I received from L last year and I hoarded it! Got the lovely Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 collection LAST YEAR and hoarded that too! Started the album, put it down and forgot where I put it til now...so for now, here is the WIP and I promised myslef that I HAVE TO finish it {complete with journaling} by my deadline.
what about you?? Same boat?? If so, please share so I won't feel so bad!

Imitation IS the sincerest form of flattery really....

and scrapbooking really isn't original, we are all just imitating "something" that we've seen; doesn't have to be a layout; could be a work of art in a museum, an ad, a photograph, a quilt...art is always a reinvention of the wheel in a way...it's anything that our eyes, mind or brain captures...so one of my blog buddies hipped me to this site accidentally (she left a comment and I went to her blog and then hopped there since I always hop to new blogs that way)..anyway, for those of us who HOARD have a paper/embellishment supply, THIS site called Counterfeit Kit Challenge was right up our alley! Reuse, reduce, recycle right ??? So anyway, they take a current popular kit club from the web, get inspired by it, then guide you to use your stash to re-create it! Their challenge is for you to create your own custom kit, share it and then share your creations !
This month, their chosen ONE was the Feb kit from Scraps of Darkness shown here:
and so I challenged myself to round up some supplies that I already had both used & unused to create this:
I chose to of course include 3 sheets of my "go-to" black cardstock as a freebie, then I added:

is a fall inspired challenge......you gotta use this as your jumping/starting point....
and since my front door doesn't resemble anything remotely near that Pottery Barn awesomeness, (is that a word? )...I was just inspired by the gold color and the fall of it all....and the fact that Thing 1 is my NATURAL BEAUTY.....here's my take on it; wish I had had a leaf punch though :)
all products used are from Cosmo Cricket with the exception of the cardboard (recycled from the box my Disney pasta plates came in) and of course the Thickers and little piece of twine. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful Wednesday everybody!
