We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures. ~Thornton Wilder
Well, September is here and wow, it's been pretty great so far! On this Thankful Thursday, I'm thankful that schools are back in session (don't get me wrong, I love summer, but my kids need to be in school lol)...
September came in with a bang, and on Labor Day, We celebrated this gorgeous girl's birthday!
where has time flown???? Our little princess is growing up :):) and yep, I am that short :)
and, Shark Boy is officially in swim school and is doing a great job thanks to Mr. Steve !!
so in between LAX camp, swimming, therapies, school and Boy Scouts, (plus the daily thing called LIFE) I'm thankful that we have the time, health and resources to make it all happen for our children!
Two simple words- Like THANK YOU or I'M THANKFUL...but sometimes, when we get busy and have to multitask so much, the though of being thankful goes right on past us .....
But IF we stop and think, "What am I thankful for?" the list can be quite long! So for today, a simple thing that I'm grateful for :) Enjoy!

Today I am thankful for this guy (Thing 3) who has put up with me , who has loved, treasured and supported me and has gifted me with the wonderful Things 1 & 2.....today is our 16th anniversary (although we have been together for 20 years {WOW, who knew??!!} He was so sweet and bought me crafty supplies!! He knows that even after all these years, I like practical gifts :):), I have never been a diamonds and pearls kinda girl... I don't blog about or scrap him very often cause he's quiet and reserved (total opposite of me) but just know he's always behind the scenes :)
9 years ago today, I went into premature labor at 25.5 weeks......this kid battled illness & almost died many times in the first year of his life (but ya'll already know our story) BUT with the gift of modern medicine, love, faith, hope, tears, and prayer, he is HERE:
I'm thankful (and teary for many reasons) today because he has come through 9 years of life just showing us how hard he tries at EVERYTHING, always with a smile...showing us how giving, loving and caring he always is...and for that, I won't ask for more at this time and place. My Thing 2 is an amazing kid !!!
HE GIVES US MORE JOY THAN HE CAN EVER IMAGINE :):)
It's Thankful Thursday and I have to admit, the last 30 days have been full of ups & downs, good & bad, happy & sad.....but despite the rain, there have been some rainbows too and for that, I am thankful.
Today would've been my niece's 31st birthday....yep, 31...and since she is no longer with us on Earth, her giving spirit can live on if we keep it alive....
So I decided that today I would honor her memory with a SMASH giveaway! No, make that TWO giveaways for ya....SMASH goodies so that you can "SMASH" the small stuff that you might otherwise forget...those small things are what make life so special.

It's Thursday and I gotta admit, I feel terrible for only pulling out my CKC kit only twice this month. It's amazing how life threw some monkey wrenches at me and next thing I knew, it was February 28th! But, I just wanted to say that I have been reading your emails & private facebook PMS sending me words of encouragement for Thing 2's upcoming surgery-for those I AM THANKFUL! And for those who have already dropped off and mailed treats for my sweet boy just know I will only pay it forward one day :)
And since I can't post without having a picture, I did do another layout last week.....hoarder stash used!
LOVE* PEACE AND PRAYERS* THANK YOU ....mwuuahh xoxoxoxo
It's a Thankful Thursday! Am off tending to some serious business today over at Hopkins (will post about that later) so in the meantime, there's so much to be thankful for today and everyday! It's the little things that come to mind today and one thing I am thankful for is for the gift of CREATIVITY :) I was never a creative person until a few years ago so I'm new to the game LOL....and I'm grateful for it since it's a great stress reliever :):)
So, enjoy some "retro" creations and just know it's all in the beholder :):) TGIT!! TTYL!!

It's THANKFUL THURSDAY and challenge # 143 over at Twisted Sketches is up! This week's "twist"is WISH, any way, any how, any kind....close your eyes and make that wish! I actually combined the two things since this was the trip of a lifetime...we've always WISHED we could go to Disney, and since my son was the Hopkins Miracle kid, in 2007, they "gifted" us a miracle all expenses paid trip to DisneyWorld Florida! All 50 states and the District of Columbia ambassadors and their families descended on Disney in a major way!!
so, one of our events included an awesome concert hosted by CMN founders John Schneider and Marie Osmond and we got to party down with Air Supply (I'm an 80's chick so they were awesome), Ritchie MacDonald, Levar Burton, the Jonas Brothers and more! Brandon was in love with the confetti more than anything so here's my LO...
.I so need to do the mini book from this trip; its been 4 years! hope you'll pop over for the sketch and check out my new team, Team B and all that we created to inspire you!!

| we "wish"ed for HEALTH and finally received it for this guy :) |
Prayer works. Faith comforts. God heals.

just asking my blog readers to say some very special prayers for my friend Nat and her family....the blessing of restored health is what she needs right now...
I know that one's prayer circle can never be too large... and again, I just wish that they would find a cure for cancer and cancer-like diseases; one of the toughest things a mom can endure is to see your child critically sick....I know from experience that it is one of the worst things " I " personally have EVER endured and I know that the power of prayer strengthened me. We just pray for healing for J in a MAJOR way.
**and I know she ain't gonna like the pic that I posted but just know girly that I LOVE YA !!
It was truly a fizzychotic day (that's for all my Love & Hip Hop fans LOL)....get a call that my son was hurt at school (he fell at recess) but not seriously "but still"- I worry cause he's been really trip prone lately as you can see; doctor's office and grocery store were also chaotic, the daughter sick, girlfriend major drama , other people calling needing some personal stuff, my son's bus broke down (on busy RT 40 of all places) so I had to go running out at the 4:30 height of rush hour to go get him, then the same kid with a bloody nose...it was like, bloody hell, do I need to clone myself today???!! What if I wasn't a stay at home mom??
And then, THIS:
THE TOOTH...it has been loose since before Christmas and I knew I was gonna be sad when it came out...I didn't want it to come out at school like last time...So I was happy that it came out after dinner but also sad cause it's gonna change his sweet smile and super sweet gap...he's losing his babyness and I wanted to hold onto it since we missed a whole year of babying him when he was in the hospital. It was time you just can't get back....But to be THANKFUL, I am THANKFUL that the new teeth are coming in white; the doctors had worried that the residual effects of the 1 year of drugs would've cause permanent teeth damage and I'm happy to say that's not the case!! I What's up with crying tears over a tooth but I can ssoooo put my kids off on the bus on their first day of school quite happily??? LOL
And then, just when you wanna scream, we see this-We got to see this together tonite-just the two of us:
{sigh}....this made the day totally worthwhile. I only had my pocket camera so it's not the best photo but the oranges and purples and pinks were spectacular...It reminded me that at times I just gotta step back, breathe deeply and appreciate the wonder of God's many blessings!!!

I know, my posts have been sporadic, but can you believe we are in mid-October already?? Where has this month, let alone year gone?? I've been a busy momma with Thing 1 and Thing 2 having alternate schedules...then we had the "sickness" go around (whew, thanking god for the FIRST time ever, I stayed GERM -FREE! Let me knockon wood right now! Cause when I say "sickness", I do mean all 3 Things sick with every symptom including vomiting imaginable ) and so, it's been crazy mad in here....but last weekend, everyone was well and we got those Indian summer kinda days...We took full advantage! This year, we did a different pumpkin patch/fall festival (instead of my favorite Sharps Farm) so for THANKFUL THURSDAY, here's some pics from Homestead G: **Outtakes since some of the better shots I need for some upcoming GDT projects!

I didn't like that it was super crowded AND no open fields to get great scrapping nature shots-no acres of pumpkins like out in western Maryland ....probably didn't matter much since Things 1 & 2 didn't want to stop for mom's photography (translation=take 1 million shots) anyway!
Most folks who know me know I DO NOT "do "scary or spooky things but I was pleasantly surprised that I loved all of their marketplace decor...it was very whimsical and not spooky:
so, after a wonderful dinner and drive, kiddos came home and got ready for the school week and went to bed early :):) (we tired them out) ...it was a sunny, wonderful, uninterrupted (from phone calls) kind of day that was so much to be thankful for.......a day unplugged....
