Back up and running-almost @ 100% and some layouts!!

it was bad-and I don't mean that in a good way-but I finally figured the virus mess out (without help from Verizon) and had to start from scratch-lost all my music {and I had TONS of it}, favorite links & folders, Photoshop.. GONE... lost about 6-8 documents that hadn't been moved to the external drive but were docs I needed for an IEP meeting this week (shit and double shit)-lost about 3 folders of pictures to include Christmas {possibly}...{E} said those pics may be recovered since I had sent some of them to Costco for printing {whew}...lost some Word and Excel docs too but we all know that we can't exactly tell what we lost during a computer crash until we go to find something and it ain't there...but all in all, loss was minimal compared ...
before the crash, I was gonna blog and show pics of the charity crop but sorry, lost those pics!!! Boo Hoo!!
I CAN say this, I thought the crop was a big SUCCESS! Between the hard work and persistance of Amber and I, we had about 37 scrappers attend-And despite the rain ALL day long and some glitches with the outlets/plugs (I didn't know that the church was still being rebuilt from a previous fire), I thought it went pretty well. The church gave us access to their full kitchen which was a great blessing, loved having that...We ate great food (thank you Dawn for the beautiful fruit salad; I'm still thinking about that and all theother creative and yummy dishes and desserts were AWESOME-I'll be contacting some folks for recipes taht people requested ) and we met sooo many new friends, some even coming for the first time and giving us the honor of attending their first but not their last crop!!! I had started these 2 layouts during the day and as co-host, that's all I got done in between socializing and eating...so despite not having any photo editing software, here ya go! Loved all the cute Cosmo Cricket papers so I'm on a scrappin' tangent to get them used...
we still have spaces left-registration open until Friday midnight!

The Church has a full kitchen, of course we need to clean up after ourselves and leave it clean.
We will have full access to frig, stove and microwave !!!
Amber will provide: Snacks, Drinks, bagels and I will tag on to that and add some other breakfast goodies once I get a feel for what folks are bringing. We can split and some folks do breakfast/snack stuff while others do appetizers, side dishes and main dish stuff.
On your own for Lunch... There are places close by. We're hoping to plan this potluck thing right and make sure you won't have to run out, but just in case.....
Dinner: POTLUCK-everybody's bringing a dish!

just wanted to thank my diva friends Deb, Kathy B and Martha for being so kind as to respond at the Columbia Scrapbooking Meetup board (http://scrapbook.meetup.com/1538/?gj=ej5&a=tc1_lm1)to support Mandie & Paige-all scrapping for a cause and they didn't even know Mandie & Paige..but that's what scrappers do..they support each other and in the process make new friends.
for all you scrapping gals that missed Mandie's crop-you missed out on fun, great food and great prizes! I went to support her charity, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and I have to say, it was FUN !! 
gotta give it to Mandie cause she had 3 years more experience than me and Susan...we'll have to get some tips from her IF we do another event next year...I didn't expect anything but fun & scrapping, but when we got there, we all got goody (goodie?) bags and buttons. Then, there were FOUR raffles of AMAZING stuff-
but I forgot to take pictures of the other two goodies baskets! I did try to win though, but no luck! I do know that 2 of my favorites- gcd studios and Tracy from Photoscraps in Eldersburg were 2 of the many sponsors of the raffle items..winner of some those goodies was Stevie~ a new friend that came way via Meetup.com!

the Winter Wonderland collection from gcd studios-I'll post better pics later and now that I think about it, I actually won two door prizes ( I won a K & Co album and goody pack)! I haven't unpacked everything from my totes so...
and then, if you can stand more, we had a $ 5 buck fill a bag AND a free item table! I came home with some nifty goodies!

I know a lot of you are away for the last week before school starts, but I just thought I'd mention this one more time...it's all for a good cause and who doesn't love to scrapbook and meet new friends ???? In fact, Mandie attended a charity scrapbook event that I hosted for Brandon and the Children's Miracle Network and that's how we became fast friends 3 years ago...For those of us whose children have been affected by serious illness, I can't stress enough the importance of attending...Many of my scrapbboking friends met me AFTER Brandon was well and don't know my backstory but IF I ever share his WHOLE story, you'd understand (I'm like other parents who haven't gotten to that step yet despite my love for scrapbooking; it's only covered the good parts so far) my thoughts about charity CROPS FOR KIDS. :)
Anywho, here's the info IF your schedule changes and you can attend!!!!
My friend Mandie's daughter Paige, was diagnosed at the age of ONE with a brain tumor....She underwent numerous surgeries and 33 radiation treatments. She is now 5 ½ and cancer free!!! Mandie and her family are trying to find new ways to help fund the foundation responsible for saving her daughter. There are many families who are not so “lucky” and need there to be more research done.
She is hosting a Crop for Kids at Oliver's Carriage House in Columbia, MD on August 29th, 2009. Please join us from 10:00am to 8:00pm to CROP FOR KIDS. The cost is $30 and includes food, door prizes, goody bags and fun! Also, there will be raffle tickets sold for product as well!
All proceeds will go to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (http://www.pbtfus.org) The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization that seeks to find the cause of and cure for childhood brain tumors as well as increase public awareness about the severity of childhood brain tumors.
