WELCOME TO THE HOP! My One Little Word (OLW) reveal
By kate blue - Saturday, January 19, 2019
HAPPY JANUARY! Welcome to the WHOGIVESASCRAP/! blog hop! Hope you came from {JENNY'S BLOG} but you can always start at the beginning with {CONNIE CAN CROP} and then follow the hoppers till you get back here!
I'll be honest, I have only had a few One Little Word (OLW) choices over the past few years because I'm always forgetting about it! My past words have included:
to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so
verb (used with object), be·lieved, be·liev·ing.
to have confidence or faith in the truth of (a positive assertion, story, etc.); give credence to.
to have confidence in the assertions of (a person).
to have a conviction that (a person or thing) is, has been, or will be engaged in a given action or involved in a given situation

- LOVE
- REFRESH
- CLARITY
- JOYFUL
For 2019, I toyed around last month with a few possibilities- CELEBRATE, BALANCE, TRUTH, CREATE, FLOURISH...but then, on December 28th, I was watching the Kennedy Center Honors and Adam Lambert and his STUNNING rendition of BELIEVE for his tribute to the lovely CHER:
Of course, he moved me to tears (I've always been a fan of his and his eclectic personal style) and so for 2019, my word is BELIEVE! 2019 will bring confidence into what I "BELIEVE" is best for me and my children and no one else! No Monday morning quarterbacks, no naysayers, no critics, nobody telling me what THEY think I should/shouldn't be doing.... I'm just going to BELIEVE that my decisions are mine and so will any consequences that come with that. I BELIEVE things can only get better that way cause what was happening in the past hasn't worked so far :) Believe in myself, my abilities, my mental and physical road to better health is what's in store in 2019.

Get your minds out of the gutter...I'm talking Friday Fabulous Feature sillies!!! I saw this crafters' work over at the Platinum Scraps blog, and although I can't make a card to save my life, (be quiet, Natalie) I do love looking and admiring the work of those that can....
Terrance allowed the Queen to asknosy questions interview him for the blog! He's been crafting since 2010...no typos..only 2010! He was working at JoAnn's, learned to use a Cricut and the rest was "his-story" LOL...He's obviously been hiding his talent. Can you imagine what would happen if he scrapped layouts??? (he doesn't) but OMG, he'd surely be published !
Q: What inspires you to create? Do you work with others or alone?"
A: I am a big believer in inspiration presenting itself in many forms. I love color, it can be a great starting point for a project. Like man others. I love pattern. I think that is the reason why we hoard some of our favorite papers. Florals are near and dear to my heart. And, I'm a sucker for damask.
Now, when I create for My Creative Time, I let the stamps be my inspiration. If one looks around my blog for a while, I think they'll find that I have a bit of a vintage/shabby style of personal cardmaking. However, I try to go outside of my box and do my best to make the stamps shine when I design with Emma's stamps. I pretty much work solo, but I get great feedback from close friends.
Q: What are your 3 favorite crafting supplies?
A: Since I started, I've evolved into a stamper mainly, so I gotta have my stamps, ink, and good cardstock. But it's very seldom that I make a card without the use of my dies and Cuttlebug. Also, anyone that knows me knows that I love ribbon and tying bows. It's one of the things I get the most comments on. I'm admittedly addicted to ribbon - preferably grosgrain or saddle stitch!
Thank you Terrance for being part of my ROYAL celebration; what better thing to do on my birthday than to share gifts with friends ???
I mean, for real, feast your eyes on this beauty:
gorgeous right??
and how about THIS:
I love the fact that he says that he has a particular style (shabby), but I just see fabulosity whether it is shabby chic, eclectic, romantic...he has all kinds of style if you ask me...I like that he thinks that you aren't limited to red & pink for Valentines Day (yes, I went WWAAYYY back in his blog posts) and I adore his mini treat boxes! He can do all the things I wish I could do like stamping, painting and embossing! So without further ado, I give mad props on this sweet Friday the 13th (MY BIRTHDAY) by kicking it off & introducing you to Terrance, aka Trell who you may know from My Creative Time or, from his personal blog, Polka Dots, Paint & Cake Batter!!! and how about THIS:

well. let's see...boring week....finally got my behind outta the sick bed for Inauguration...did I mention that I passed the sickness on to hubby???
* got to see my friend Mandy who I hadn't seen in like forever; had a great time and got home entirely too late.
* Scrapped about 6 cute layouts but haven't photographed them cause they are out in the car-too lazy to lug the big tote inside till tomorrow.
* May start early and start doing the CLEAN thing since Kim's coming on Saturday and there's no football on tomorrow. I love the Ravens anyway!
*Had a yummy Greek burger (not gyro) with lots of cucumber and tzatziki sauce-I'll probably dream about it tonight :)
Saying prayers for my scrapbooking friend Kimberly Madrid and her little man Ryan who has had leukemia since 2006..was in remission and it has returned and despite a stem cell transplant and other medical procedures, the treatment he is undergoing now may not work. Kim's words are here and it hurts me to post them for I know how her heart is heavy right now:
"Ryan will be getting 5 days of a combination of ARA-C and clofarabine. These are both ''big gun'' drugs. The doc was very clear that they did not know if this would work or not. She was also very careful to state (and re-state) the possible side effects of this chemo: immuno-suppression, possibly for a very long time, nausea, fever, vomiting, severe organ damage (to the point that he could die from this).
Well. If we don't go forward we *know* for certain (barring Godly intervention) that the cancer will kill him. We won't know if this chemo can help him unless we try"
She asks for nothing but prayers right now. If you have a minute, pleae visit their www.Caringbridge.org page (key word is MADRID) and leave some words of encouragement... thank you {heart & hug inserted}

Hmm, let's see... JYAS *****I will be one of the next featured "artists" (if you can call me that) {hehehehe} at http://youraveragescrapbook.blogspot.com/ sometime around January 25th or 26th...but for now, go check out their site and check out this weeks's featured scrapper MEG. She has some very, very nice projects and layouts. I'll be lurking around her blog the rest of the evening until my cold medicine kicks in :) Maybe you will be inspired to post some of your layouts for others to be inspired. Again, sorry about the link thingees on my blog; I'm not that good at blogging and don't know how to do it correctly-somebody's gotta teach me! Volunteers????
Then, in February, I will be one of the featured artists @ Scrapbooking.com newsletter/online site!! They actually liked 2 canvases I did of Thing 1 and Thing 2 so hopefully you'll see those soon.

that I do not mind people having an opinion about me sticking up for Sasha BUT I do mind you being abusive in your comments to me. This is a democracy and everyone has their opinion to situations {including me} and I chose to NOT post it anonymously like some of you and I will respectfully leave it at that. I didn't agree with the postings that Sasha placed on her blog after the postings at CMK, but like she said it is HER blog and HER words and I respect that aspect of it. I merely stated my opinion that included other conversations that bloggers were not aware of. Let's just let sleeping dogs lie and go forward. If you got upset by MY post(s), use that energy in a more creative outlet rather than sending me anonymous and other nastygrams; there's more important things like the war in Iraq and hungry kids in our community than to worry about scrapbook DTs and published pages-it's all good in the neighborhood ya know?????
